MINUTES <br /> March 3, 2015, at 7:15 P.M. <br /> REGULAR CITY COMMISSION MEETING <br /> A. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Vandergrift called the regular session to order at 7:15 p.m. in the Commission <br /> Chambers of City Hall. Commissioner Keller gave the invocation, followed by the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance to the Flag, led by Commissioner Wilsen. City Clerk Eikenberry called roll and <br /> declared a quorum present. <br /> Roll Call: Commissioner Grogan, Commissioner Wilsen, Mayor Vandergrift, Commissioner <br /> Johnson, and Commissioner Keller. <br /> B. PRESENTATIONS AND PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Presentation of Check to Smile for a Lifetime, as the Beneficiary of the Proceeds from the <br /> Chick -fil -A 5K Run and Kids Fun Run During the Founders' Day Celebration. <br /> Recreation Leader Mark Rollins along with Representatives from Chick -fil -A presented a <br /> check in the amount of $1003.00 to Smile for a Lifetime as the beneficiary of the 4th Annual <br /> Chick -fil -A 5K Run and Kids Fun Run. <br /> Recognition of Detective Michelle Grogan as the Ocoee Police Department's 2014 Crisis <br /> Intervention Team "CIT" Officer of the Year. <br /> Police Chief Brown announced and recognized Det. Michelle Grogan as the Ocoee Police <br /> Department's 2014 CIT Officer of the Year for her outstanding work in the assistance of a <br /> veteran with PTSD. <br /> Presentations by the Citizens Advisory Council for Ocoee Police Department (CACOPD). <br /> CACOPD Vice -Chair Laney gave a brief summary of each award recipient and why they were <br /> chosen. <br /> ➢ Civilian of the Year Award: Madeleine Garza <br /> ➢ Volunteer of the Year Award: Auxiliary Sergeant Bob Chedwick <br /> ➢ Officer of the Quarter Award: Officer Matthew Serrao <br /> ➢ Officer of the Year Award: Officer Daniel Schilling <br /> C. COMMENTS FROM CITIZENS /PUBLIC <br /> Martha Lopez- Anderson, Saving Young Hearts, announced the 10 Annual Spring Fling will <br /> be held on March 14 at Bill Breeze Park with many cities, county and state agencies as well as <br /> business participating. She further stated since they will have an audience of many youth the <br /> Saving Young Hearts organization was would like to inquire if they would be able to us the <br /> Ocoee Lakeshore Center for indoor heart screenings during the Safety Spring Fling on March <br /> 14 Commissioner Wilsen advised that the Lakeshore Center in addition to the park complex <br /> has been reserved for the Spring Fling. <br /> Commissioner Wilsen, seconded by Commissioner Keller, moved to allow use of <br /> the Ocoee Lakeshore Center to Saving Young Hearts for heart screenings during <br /> the March 14 Spring Fling Event. Motion Carried 5 -0. <br />
